Meet Jessica
Jessica Fleming is a working mother of four Forsyth County elementary school students. She’s currently serving on the Local School Council for Daves Creek Elementary, is the Secretary of the PTA, and has been a room parent for the past three years. After graduating college, Jessica did a year of volunteer service through AmeriCorps, where she taught middle schoolers in South Central Los Angeles. During that time, she also coached the school’s volleyball and basketball teams and led a book club for 6th through 8th graders.
Originally from Queens, NY, Jessica and her family have lived in Forsyth County since 2015. Jessica is an award-winning writer and editor. She’s worked for iconic brands like Parade Magazine, Rachael Ray, and David Letterman. Jessica has written for prestigious publications, including The Washington Post, The New York Times, Good Housekeeping, and Runner’s World. She’s currently a Senior Editor at Health, leading a team of writers and editors who create content that helps people lead healthier lives.
Jessica brings her strong work ethic to everything she does. She completed an Ironman triathlon, multiple marathons, and even sprinted up all 1,860 steps to the top of the Empire State Building.
She’s running to be the School Board Representative for District 2 because she’s seen the unparalleled education her children receive in Forsyth County and wants to keep the school district strong and fully funded. She supports teachers, believes learning about history is important even if it makes you uncomfortable, and that all students have a right to feel supported and seen while learning.
